Sixth Paragraph

This is total speculation:

It is an interesting fact to note that the amulet curses those that it does not accept with sexth (this was how Dan and Nawaki died, Tsunade had given them both the amulet, to show how proud she was of them, as they both wanted to become Hokage, but apparently the amulet did not accept them.)Those that the necklace serves (aka, immune to the curse)so far have all become Hokages. The necklace accepted Tsunade, who did become the Godaime Hokage, the uncanny part is that it also accepted Naruto, so is Naruto destined to become a Hokage?

You are right, neither the anime nor the manga gives concrete evidence that the necklace is cursed. While there is evidence that it might be, i think it is better to say "the necklace may be cursed" rather than affirming that "the necklace is cursed. Also you are right that while naruto is aspiring to become a hokage, it is not right to say "he will become hokage" because neither anime nor manga showed that naruto became the hokage.

Tsunade's Name (綱手)

About Tsunade's name in kanji -- it says in the trivia section "The name "Tsunade" (綱手) means "mooring rope"." Can somebody confirm this? From my knowledge, the kanji translates to "net" and "hand" respectively, not "mooring rope." Observation 07:01, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

From my understanding of the Kanji, It makes more sense to translate it using Traditional Chinese, which yields "Hand of Iron", more understandable due to the fact Tsunade is portrayed as a character with immense strength.24.149.204.116 21:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Hm, I agree, although it wasn't until recently that someone told me that 綱 was "wang3" (net) -- which is probably incorrect. From what I know, they pronounce her name as "gang1 shou3" (iron hand) in the Chinese dub, which is why it has cause me confusion when this page stated her name meant "mooring rope," -- a definition that makes no sense in the first place. 202.169.215.68 13:11, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Gāng shǒu "gang1 shou3" is its correct pronounciation. And I would like to add that 綱, 鋼, or 钢 (Simplfied Chinese) actually meant steel, not iron, although they are fundamentally the same element. Ninjutsu used by Tsunade

When Tsunade attempted to kill Orochimaru with a ninjutsu that looked like healing but instead is an offensive jutsu, as Kabuto states; "The flow of chakra is not right". I highly doubt that it was the Rasengan -- if Tsunade knew that attack, then why didn't she use it during her battle with Orochimaru when her life was at stake? There isn't a name for it, we don't know what it does, so it doesn't matter. More likely, Tsunade would use something similar to what she used on Kabuto, except more intense. So intead of messing up his nervous system, she'd disconnect Orochimaru's brain from his heart and lungs, or something along those lines. Tyciol 23:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I believe Tsunade used the same jutsu that Kabuto used on Shizune, when he took her by the ankles. Both techniques consist of fire-like chakra. Or maybe this jutsu increases physical damage, since Tsunade had lost her super-human strength due the side effect of the super healing jutsu, and she sent Orochimaru pretty far. I agree with the above statement. Sakura also uses visible consentrated chakra in her hand to create more powerful blows at some point in the anime. Another thing, this seems to be an opinion "her summoned giant slug, Katsuyu is not quite as strong as Jiraiya's frog, Gamabunta" especially since the databook indicates she is on equal grounds with Manda and Gama Bunta

Funny. Yeah, but I agree with him/her. There should be something about the obvious here. This is Wikipedia after all. Naruto's pet names for Tsunade

While everyone else refers to her as Tsunade-sama and Hokage-sama, -sama being the customary Japanese honorifics used when referring to one's superior, should it not be noted that Naruto almost always uses one of the pet names he invented for her ("Old Lady Tsunade" and "Granny" seem to be the translations used by fansubbers)? I know that the Jiraiya article specifically mentions Naruto's pet name for him. It would add some clarity as to the closeness of their relationship since I doubt anyone else, except maybe Jiraiya, could get away with using those names. --130.127.121.188 03:10, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Kekkai Genkai

Sorry it took me so long to answer quietdrive627 but i just found you question today. While its true that the first hokage is tsunade's grandfather, tsunade did not inherit the mokuton and the tailed-beast control that her grandfather had. It is also interesting to note that the second hokage (the first' younger brother) also did not inherit the first' unique jutsu.

It's only by potential. Maybe there's a chance that Tsunade can use Shodai's abilities in the manga?TwilightDog 00:06, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Yamato mentions that Wood Release is the result of a combination of Water and Earth chakra. Mr. 2 specialized in water-elemental techniques; that might be something. Additionally, Wind-elemental chakra is used for slicing, Fire-elemental chakra is used for combustion, Water-elemental chakra is used for dousing, Electric-elemental chakra makes paper crumple (causes contractions/stunning?), and Earth-elemental chakra reduces things to dust and rubble. I recently watched Naruto and I replayed this scene where Jiraiya tells Gai,naruto and Sasuke that the "Female Sannin" is coming or needs to come and it sounded like he called her "Lee Tsunade" Was it me or am I hearing things?

I always figured that Tsunade just followed the anime tradition of having a constantly fluctuating bust-line, as thus rendering the idea of a fixed cup-size irrelevant. Tsunade's Genjustu

I've heard that the reason why Tsunade looks much younger than her actually age is because of a genjustu she uses thats always in affect. Is this true? Because I havn't seen anywhere in the manga, or anime, that mentions it.

the dot of Tsunade's forehead isn't for her transformation, its for her Creation Rebirth Jutsu, plus the transformation only lasts aslong as she has chakra, because at the end of her battle with Orochimaru you can see that the jutsu dispells because of your using too much chakra in the fight.

No. The seal on her forehead isn't just for her Creation Rebirth, the seals purpose is to store chakra which is needed to sustain a transformation, and thats why her seal is always visible. In the artical it says that Tsunade and Jiraiya were married. I must say I was shocked to read this (I was reading the manga for a while but I have been behind for a while). I was just wondering when they were married and does this meen that they beleve in divorses.Smileyface 12 91 ^_~

Tsunade's last name
