AFD
This article should not be deleted. "minor attacks" which cause international reaction almost always have articles. Sopher99 (talk) 16:30, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- In case you have not noticed - there is a discussion page for the proposal here, so you can add your opinion there. Anyway, it seems there is a clear consensus to keep this article.Greyshark09 (talk) 16:38, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
merge with something else
This is ridiculous, we can't create an article for every single story that comes out. This is just a minor event that resulted in two minor injuries in a long war. We can just summarise it in one sentence under International reactions to the 2011–2012 Syrian uprising.--Rafy talk 17:57, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- We discussed it in the past, but the reason for keeping it wasn't the scale (just two injuries), but the international consequences of attack on Turkish nationals by the Syrian Army personnel. It sure didn't help to the deteriorating ties of Syria and Turkey, however if it in some way contributed to this deterioration - it should be kept.Greyshark09 (talk) 20:57, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well I don't see how this is notable... 2 buses were shot at, some windows shattered and two people lightly injured. Neither Turkey asked for an apology nor Syria issued one. If we take a look at the notability guidelines we find that:
- 1. It has no lasting effect. The issue just died out in 1 week.
- 2. It has no impact on a significantly large region. It only shocked the occupants of 2 buses.
- The event also fails the Depth of coverage, Duration of coverage, and Diversity of sources criteria.
- We could just summarise this event into a single line in the Syria–Turkey relations or International reactions to the 2011–2012 Syrian uprising articles.--Rafy talk 22:15, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't checked myself regarding the notability, thus i trust you on this - on my behalf i hence support the merge.Greyshark09 (talk) 11:18, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- In the international incidents section we should better develop articles on attack on Syrian embassies by protesters and attacks on various embassies in Damascus by Assad's supporters.Greyshark09 (talk) 11:21, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- Honestly I think these incidents should all be mentioned in existing articles instead of creating endless stubs. We should consider forking once articles reach a certain size.--Rafy talk 19:12, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
- This is extremely notable, because they are Turkish citizens who are not involved in the events and were passing through. It is not ridiculous, it is criminal, and deserves the attention it got, and deserves a separate article which is more developed than we see here. | Moemin05 (talk) 03:49, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
