As far as I know (and I live in Germany), the UFC / MMA has been banned from TV alltogether. I cannot hand you an international article but the 11pm limitation as been there since DSF began to show UFC-Events.

I'm only going off what the source says to me. If you can find a source arguing against me, then by all means, remove the 11pm section of the sentence. Paralympiakos (talk) 15:57, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

In your own source it says that it has been banned : has banned mixed martial arts from being broadcast on the Munich-based cable network German Sports Television (DSF).

Sherdogs article (http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Update-UFC-Banned-from-German-TV-23317) says

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has been banned from German television.

The BLM decision did not state an exact date when the UFC programming would no longer be allowed to air.

“That is why we deem the sudden ban unusual as the content of our programming has not changed. We have also had a commission for youth protection in the media review the situation and they deemed the broadcast legal if televised after 11 p.m.” (the situation beforce it was banned)

Therefore I will edit this sentence, and by no means I wanted to pick on the article. I think it is great there is someone like you doing this great work.

Cain Velasquez and Flag for UFC 121

I changed Chain Velasquez's flag to Mexico as per MOS:FLAG#Use of flags for sportspeople because the UFC is advertising he is competing in this event and will be representing Mexico. Specifically they state he is "trying to become the first Mexican UFC Champion." The MoS state that an athlete's flag should be of their sporting nationality, not true nationality. Therefore, for this event, the Mexican flag is the most appropriate. --TreyGeek (talk) 14:40, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

The advertising says Cain is trying to be the first Mexican Heavyweight champion. Not Mexican UFC chmapion as there have been fighters with mexican heritage you have been champion (Tito Ortiz) It doesn't matter what the advertising says. Wait until the Pay Per View. you will see the flag under Cain's name will be American. He was born and raised in America therefore making him an American of Mexican decent. Again, I would urge you to actually read MOS:FLAG#Use of flags for sportspeople. Particularly the bit that says, "Flags should never indicate the player's nationality in a non-sporting sense; flags should only indicate the sportsperson's national squad/team or representative nationality." In other words, it doesn't matter where Velasquez was born. If he wants to represent India for UFC 121, then he gets an Indian flag for UFC 121. In this case, it appears from the advertising that he is electing to represent Mexico and thus the Mexican flag is the most appropriate. --TreyGeek (talk) 04:49, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

This brings up a good issue (probably more suited for the MMA WikiProject talk page). I agree that fighters represent their gym or training group moreso than any particular country. Using that argument, there should be no national flag placed next to fighter's names, only flags representing the gym they are representing (if those flags existed). --TreyGeek (talk) 20:10, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
