[edit]According to 3GPP specification 21905-800 UTRAN stands for Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network, not UMTS Terrestrical Radio Access Network. Could somebody move this article to the correct name, and update the text to reflect this? Thanks

UE part of UTRAN
[edit]Is UE part of an UTRAN? In its current version, image UTRAN en.png displays UE as part of UTRAN, while the article states that only RNC and Node B are part of UTRAN. Is the image wrong? --Abdull (talk) 16:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Abbreviations meaning
[edit]- Iu: ?
- Iu-PS: Iu Packet Switched
- Iu-CS: Iu Circuit Switched
- Iur: ?
- Iub: ?
- Uu:
- what does the small u mean?
- Big U: probably analogous to Um Interface (according to English Wikipedia, the m stands for mobile)
- according to English Wikipedia, has its roots in ISDN's U interface
- according to German Wikipedia, there are several interfaces in alphabetical order (R, S, T, U, V)
- (why the interface names start somewhere in the middle of the alphabet is yet another question)
