Name?
[edit]I am not sure this ship was named after Admiral Bowen, given that no other officer of the era received such an honor, as far as I know. Might it have been named after an earlier Bowen? Please provide a source for this info. Thanks. Ssvonavec 03:31, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
USS Bowen was named after Vice Admiral Harold G. Bowen, Sr. (1883-1965), not after his son, Vice Admiral Harold G. Bowen, Jr. Source: Commissioning ceremony press kit. --88.14.179.157 (talk) 18:56, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
