Proposal: Move to "UU (disambiguation)", redirect "UU" to "Unitarian Universalism"

Should UU redirect to Unitarian Universalism? The first 19 results (and 95 out of the first 100) of a Google search for "UU" pertain to Unitarian Universalism. Most other possible meanings (many of which are quite obscure and hardly actually in use) don't appear in the top 100 Google results at all. Certainly, Google should not be the deciding authority for encyclopedic relevance, but an overwhelming 95% preponderance of Unitarian Universalism should give some indication. --ThorstenNY (talk) 16:39, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the absence of opposition: move implemented. --ThorstenNY (talk) 18:22, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the opposition. I disagree with the move, and I think the move should be reversed as soon as possible. As far as I know, most letters and two or three letter combinations are disambiguation pages. Also, the wikilinks and google can only be a guideline, but do not actually represent the only aspect of this. The University of Uppsala in Sweden for example is frequently abbreviated " with UU in that country and elsewhere, as you can see on their website www.uu.se. 193.11.216.206 (talk) 14:18, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And indeed, UU does direct to Uppsala universitet on Swedish-language Wikipedia. That's exactly how it should be. In Swedish usage, UU most often refers to the school. In English uage, UU most often refers to the religion. Wikipedia is supposed to be descriptive (i.e., reflect actual usage) as opposed to prescriptive (i.e., primarily give long lists of possible definitions.) --ThorstenNY (talk) 22:28, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The fact is that UU refers to a number of different important articles, and not only to Unitarian Universalism. By that I mean that it does so in the English language. I don't know if you are a unitarian universalist, but the move should most certainly be revoked for the simple reason that it is generally unusual for two-letter words to redirect to only one article if there are many notable ones as is the case here. I doubt that Unitarian Universalism is "by far the most common" one, and google numbers aren't exactly the best argument either. --Axt (talk) 20:50, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
