Plot
[edit]The plot section appears to be incomplete. There is no mention of "the cops cutting down the protagonist," as described in the review in the Reception section. Richard75 (talk) 20:41, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
Historical Errors
[edit]The article as written states, "Journalist Ben Hecht's influence appears in the phony flower shop operation and killing of "Bull" Weed's archenemy, "florist" Buck Mulligan, evoking the 1922 real-life murder of kingpin Dion O'Bannon by the Tony Torrios mob."
The correct spelling of the murdered gangster is O'Banion. He was killed in 1924, not 1922. He was killed by gunmen from the Angelo Genna organized crime group which was allied with the Johnny (not Tony) Torrio group. At the time, Torrio ran the South Siders (of Chicago) which was also called the Chicago Outfit. There are articles on O'Banion, Torrio, and the Chicago Outfit on Wikipedia.
