Need to rename this article[edit]

Aavani Aavittam is a tamil term denoting the festival. Since this festival is being observed by brahmins from all over South India, this article should be renamed with the more generic sanskrit substitute 'Upaakarma'. Also this article mentions only 'Yajur Upakarma' for some reason whereas it is observed by people following Rig Veda and Sama Veda but not necessarily on the same day. --Gthorvey (talk) 17:59, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Upakarma[edit]

Did not realise that there is another article called Upakarma. There is no point in maintaining two articles with almost same information. I ported most of the extra information in this site to that article. Got some more work to do, which I will do later. rams81 (talk) 19:55, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
