Who was CO in Dec 1950 at El Toro?
[edit]I was in VMF111 at Dallas NAS, when activated in 1950. After a few months the Co was looking through the records of the men to see who would need or wish to have more training. He must have read our folders pretty well for I have mentioned that I had taken a correspondence course in electronics. He called me into his office - scared me at first. Then he said he was looking at the records and had seen where I had bought a correspondence course in electronics from Capital Radio and Engineering Corp (CREI). He asked about it and was I still interested. I told him I did and was still interested.
He said he had reserved a spot in an Electronic Course, and would I like to take it. ....."YES SIR!!"
He enrolled me, I took a years training at Ft Monmouth Army Base in NJ for a full years training. I received the essence of a BSEE relative to the technical part, w/o and the other requirments such as English, History etc.
I finished the=at schooling and met my wife there, and spent the next 42 years in the computer industry from tecnichian to third level of management with a great life and super income.
WISH I COULD LOCATE HIM AND EXPRESS MY THANKS FOR HIS LEADERSHIP, CONSIDERATION AND TREATMENT AND GTHE BENEFIT FOR A GREAT LIFE FROM HIS DECISIONS. 72.191.39.108 (talk) 21:04, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
