What about the Marines using F-14?

Hello, I saw a picture of a couple of U.S. Marines, VFMA-53, using two Tomcats. I don't know what they did with those, maybe except for Air Shows or exchange tours. I searched as much as I can, and I only read that some Marines trained some Navy Pilots for F-14s.

Can anyone who knows more think if it's important to talk about in this article somewhere. It does look odd seeing F-4s and then right to the FA-18.
