in the case of a bad storm, what would be the reason for turning the system of, if it's a close system?

In response, A vacuum sysetm would not need to be turned off during a storm, but you may want to isolate certain sections, if they are prone to complete submergence thus taking the house lines under long term flood levels. At least with a vacuum system it is easy to isolate different areas.

Potential build up of fat

This note is in response to a recent update on this wiki page. Someone has suggested that one problem with vacuum systems is a potential build up of fat and grease in the sensor pipe with the vacuum chamber. This person has also added a link to and article they have written on this problem. This is not a problem with vacuum systems generally --the only times that we have seen this occur is due to an incorrect setting of the sensor pipe level or an air leak occuring on the sensor pipe line. When installed correctly there should never be this problem. Example section needs references!

Can the people who included the example section please add verifiable references to their statements? E.g. that part about South Africa and Namibia seems flawed to me; as far as I know there were only 1-2 pilots which didn't actually work out well (at least not the one in Cape Town). So please include up to date references or delete those examples. EvMsmile (talk) 13:12, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Electrical Vulnerabilities

The Provincetown, MA (USA) system recently failed due to power surges from a storm, needing replacement of over 200 controllers.
