In "current band members" it says * Brandon Butler - vocals (2007–2001) should that say "2010" instead of "2001"? Ashadycharacter (talk) 03:20, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Being as bored as I was, I actually looked into investigation of this question and found the edit that made this display on the page and it actually wasn't a typo. This IP editor for some reason went and did that (I presume) out of vandalism, complete with adding a totally incorrect pronunciation of the band's name as well. To answer your concluding question, no, it should not say "2010" because that would mean Butler left the band in 2010, which he did not. He's currently in the group so thus it should say "present". • GunMetal Angel 13:45, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

I believe VOM's Genre Should Be Changed TO Technical Deathcore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dowa2bp (talkcontribs)

Not a genre, and we're not about to just make branches off of other branches of genres all for the sake of drama. What ever happened to just calling it metal? • GunMetal Angel 08:24, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Matt of the Dead?[edit]

This used to be on the page as the original singer for the band. im going to save questions on why he used a kooky name like "Matt Of The Dead" but was there an actual singer for the band with this name or was it just vandalism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.233.2.108 (talk) 06:57, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the same when I saw it, so I removed it. Considering how this guy's real name isn't even known, I'm assuming there never was a "Matt of the Dead" in the band and it's all just something someone wrote on here when the article was being made back in the day. • GunMetal Angel 07:34, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some corrections in content[edit]

Checking up on Marc Okubo's Twitter, I found this tweet » https://twitter.com/#!/marceatsfood/status/183639211059068928 and made corrections on the page accordingly. Just leaving this note in advance for anyone later who might think Veil of Maya's name was taken from a poem. • GunMetal Angel 14:04, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for genre[edit]

This appears to be another one that individual editors appear to have unilaterally have decided fall into one camp rather than others. I'm going to spend the next couple of days having a look round for sources for some of these bands and leave them on talk pages, rather than editing the articles themselves (at this stage). So, Veil of Maya then:
