Talk:Vertex and pixel shaders
Vetex and pixel shaders are still two separate things. Why do they not have two separate pages!!
Copied info
[edit]This whole page is just copied from www.Answers.com
On proposed merge.
[edit]I am reviewing shaders and I plan to release a new version soon with improved layout, information and references. Leave me some days to get it online, in the meanwhile, let's talk about this. There are good reasons to merge this into shader:
- Users are unlikely to write "Vertex and pixel shaders": because they are both shaders, they'll probably write "shaders", instead.
- This page is quite a bit outdated (PS3.0 is now commodity) and carries little information by itself.
- Both pages are getting little attention, altough shaders seems to be more active.
- Vertex and Fragment processing are just special shading cases, a subset of shader capabilities and so it really needs to be merged.
- We want to keep the structure simple.
Tell me what you think about this. I believe I'll update the new "shader" page in few days and then start integrating this (is there any problem with the copied info? They're facts). It will probably take me 1-2 weeks. MaxDZ8 08:49, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Ok, the new shaders page is finally online, go read it and discussing the merge. MaxDZ8 14:07, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
