Talk:Vox (comics)
Redirection
[edit]Is the redirection from Herald (comics) to this article correct? I just want to be sure before I fix all the double redirects that were created when I fixed the article of the title. -- Natalya 21:47, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- More importantly, how do we fix the improperly done redirect so that the real page history is intact? CovenantD 01:53, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Oh dear, it looks like the first move was a cut and paste move. Thanks for pointing that out. I've added a history merging tag, and will list the details at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. -- Natalya 02:52, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. I suppose I should take the time to learn the process. Maybe next time. :) CovenantD 03:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like it's been taken care of. Lovely! -- Natalya 11:33, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Actually, it looks as if whoever removed Vox (comics) from the cut-and-paste move repair holding pen merely deleted Vox (comics) instead of merging its history with Herald (comics). After some discussion at Herald (comics), it was decided that the best location for the content was Mal Duncan, which also had history. Since that history was more-or-less disjoint from the history of Herald (comics), I merged those two pages' histories; however, since this page's history overlaps with the history currently at Mal Duncan, I think that it would be needlessly complicated to merge Vox (comics) with Mal Duncan. Wikipedia:How to fix cut and paste moves says, "An appropriate procedure for such a case [with overlapping histories] is to forego the history merge, and instead handle the situation much like a normal merge; put a note pointing to the other version of the page on the article's talk page." So I've restored the history of Vox (comics) and will note it at Talk:Mal Duncan. Whew! —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 08:18, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
