Puff-Piece

[edit]

Much of this article is written like a travel brochure or personal diary detailing the writer's personal opinions. The author describes such things as the history of the community, and citizens' religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds with little or no evidence. Some of the article even sounds more like an infomercial than an encyclopedia entry. I recommend the entire article be rewritten to a higher standard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.235.4.6 (talk) 23:03, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location

[edit]

The city is located at 33deg 46' N 72deg 45'E, which is 30km from Islamabad, not 30 miles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.6.229.87 (talk) 01:46, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Total confusion

[edit]

To the best of my knowledge, 'Wah' is or should be a reference to a village in Attock district, on the Grand Trunk Road, which is very famous for (a) the old Mughal gardens/ruins there (b) for being the birthplace of the first native governor of the Punjab, Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan. And this Wah Cantonment and township are later creations. However, for some reason, there is a spurious article on Wah which is about some 'town' which doesnt exist at all; and there is this article, on the cantonment/township. This article contains information about the old village (see history/origins) and the 'Wah' town article contains information about a bomb blast that happened in the cantonment--so its all a mess and fallacious too! Please, for god's sake, if anyone has any sense on Wikipedia, kindly fix this-- have 2 articles, one on Wah (village and truly historical place) and one on Wah cantonment (ie this one) removing the historical part and adding the township and bomb episodes thanks39.54.93.182 (talk) 10:42, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Abdullah Shah[reply]

Merge article

[edit]

I agree with the above views, so I am merging the Wah article here, which is a needless duplication. Possibly a new/separate article on Wah (village) where the famed Mughal Gardens are, might be made? Thanks 39.54.250.178 (talk) 17:48, 12 April 2014 (UTC)Col (r) Mumtaz Khan[reply]

Another merge proposal - bring Sar Jalal here

[edit]

There was an AfD for the Sar Jalal article that just closed as no consensus. It was very hard to find sources. But then one source said Sar Jalal was the former name for Wah Cantt. Is that correct? There is some historical information in that article, though it is very brief, and a lot of content might be WP:COPYVIO, but if it is the same place, I think it should be merged with this article. It might help to balance things here too. I don't know enough about the history of geography of the region to do something like that myself. Anyone else want to have a look?
