Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (Hello, I created this page to provide historical and background information on the Washington DC LDS Stake. I believe the below paragraph sent off the duplication detector sensors despite me linking to the source directly after the paragraph. I did not realize this was not acceptable and I would be happy to re-write it to abide by Wikipedia's terms and conditions, as needed.

"As the first stake in the mid-Atlantic region, the Washington DC Stake became the tree from which 24 other stakes have branched. President Ezra Taft Benson was called as the first Stake President. At the time, the stake ranged from Fairview, Pennsylvania, to Richmond, Virginia, and from Maryland’s Chesapeake to Virginia’s Blue Ridge. More than 93,000 Church members now live within these stakes.[1]"

Thanks for your consideration, Romana) --Romicvitkovic (talk) 19:46, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Romicvitkovic: You can start over and write about the stake in your own words. We cannot (may not, from a legal standpoint) use the text copied directly from another source. —C.Fred (talk) 19:49, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@C.Fred: Thanks for the quick reply. At the same time, I made changes on the original post. If I need to start over, how do I do so if the URL is already taken? Thanks in advance Romicvitkovic (talk) 19:58, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Romicvitkovic: Looking at the extent of the violation and the degree to which your rewrite fixed the problem, I think you're okay to just continue here. —C.Fred (talk) 20:04, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@C.Fred: Thank you; appreciate the quick feedback on here. Will be more cognizant going forward of requirements. Thanks! -Romicvitkovic (talk) 20:14, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
