My understanding is that the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association is a transitional organization until more schools in these two conferences add lacrosse teams. It might be noted that all the teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in WILA are offering women's lacrosse, while all the teams from the Pacific West Conference in WILA are offering men's lacrosse. As there are numerous club lacrosse teams at many other RMAC schools (but not in the PWC), many observers expect the RMAC will officially sponsor women's lacrosse in the not-too-distance future.
