Rationing[edit]

Does the film actually mention rationing? Whisky was not rationed during the second world war, it was just scarce due to lack of workers and input materials. Hairy Dude (talk) 20:05, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are quite right, @Hairy Dude:. There was no rationing of whisky or any other alcoholic drinks during the war. I recently rewrote the entire plot summary, and I used the word "shortages" rather than "rationing". I also used the term "allocation", this being the word that the pub landlord used when explaining his three bottles of whisky to Waggett. Mike Marchmont (talk) 11:09, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
