I think this article now meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-orphan status (e.g., linked to by 3 related articles not including the disambiguation page) and so I have decided to remove the orphan tag. Hopefully others who may be interested in multipass optical systems will now be able to find their way here.
Also, changed the article's importance rating from low to unknown. I believe it should receive at least a "mid-importance" rating but it would be nice to get more input.
