The "Wimberger Ring was described in several papers, only one is known to me (I am Hans Wimberger's son); 6. Wimberger H. Klinisch-radiologische Diagnostik v. Rachitis, Scorbut u. Lues im Kindesalter. Ergebn. d. inner. Med. u. Kinderheilkunde. 1925;28:264.

Caffey, in his textbook (see below) was the first to use the term "Wimberger Ring", thus making the described x-ray image an eponym. Caffey J.
