Incompatible versions of the JNT file format with the downloadable journal export libraries and utilities
[edit]There are at least two versions of the .jnt file format in use, and multiple versions of the journal.exe executable:
1.7.2600.5512 - Windows XP Tablet PC edition (x86 executable)
6.1.7601.17514 - Windows 7 Professional (x64 executable)
.jnt files produced with the Windows XP Tablet PC edition of journal.exe can be correctly converted to OneNote notebooks using the Microsoft Powertoy written by John Guin"Journal to OneNote Importer".; or to XML and SVG by Casey Chestnut"Converting Journal Notes to XML, SVG, and OneNote".
.jnt files produced with the Windows 7 version (at least the x64 one) of journal.exe do not export correctly using the export library, and are effectively stuck as jnt files unless exported as bitmap images. Lord Nightmare (talk) 05:57, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
JNT to PDF
[edit]Here is a script that does it: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/ms-journal-dateien-unter-linux-oeffnen-wie/#post-3742637 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.203.39.193 (talk) 20:29, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
Windows 11 Microsoft Journal
[edit]There is a new Journal app available for Windows 11 (installable from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/garage/profiles/journal/). Not sure if I should update this page or create another one.
It's worth mentioning there is a new version in the Windows app store. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:7642:1730:41E7:E529:F644:7A87 (talk) 16:33, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
