anyone know how the actual evolution of wurmple was determined?

and if it's true, the other secret stat likely has to do with time, as the official pokemon guide from nintendo say that it's evolution is based on time, yet the timing is so complex it seems random.

Evolution:

The above comment about timing is on the right track. Wurmple evolves according to if its day or night when it reaches the correct level. I have added the comment peice on Wurmple's evolution. Arizona325 1:21am, June 7, 2007.

I have proof that this is wrong, on my Sapphire I was training my Wurmple in the day (game time: 11:33 AM) and it evolved into a Cascoon. -Fear teh Happy! 00:19, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

False Caterpillar?

What? Looks like a caterpillar to me. evolves into a butterfly/moth. Did they mean it's a false worm because the english name is worm when it's a caterpillar?
