Yedikule - Heptapyrgion

[edit]

There are no "Yedikule" articles in WP for the moment. The two concepts are from two different languages and the only two articles (both about Greece) now in this DAB have no similarity in their titles. We will make "Yedikule" articles in Turkish and will need to use the name independently from "Heptapyrgion" which has no reason to monopolise a Turkish word. Please eliminate this DAB. --E4024 (talk) 22:44, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A dab page is for helping people to get to the right place. People coming to this page will either be linked here from another article or they have searched for Yedikule or Yedi Kule. A look at the "What links here" shows that most links actually are intended for Istanbul Yedikule. With the renaming of this page, all links to "Yedikule" are redirected to "Yedi Kule". And with the removing of all continuing links for Istanbul Yedikule, people are stuck. Example: If you click on the "Yedikule" link in the article "Yedikule Anadolu Lisesi", you are redirected here, and then you can find no way forward. Likewise, if you search for just Yedikule, you end up here, with no link to Istanbul. I think the old name was better, since there are far more links to Yedikule than to Yedi Kule, but that is not important. What is important, is to help people on the right way whether they are looking for the one or the other. I will revert the removal of the links to Istanbul Yedikule. If and when there is a separate article about the fortress, "Yedikule" can redirect there (with a note "This is about ... For other uses, see ..."). But it will still have to be in this dab list. --79.160.40.10 (talk) 15:07, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is no Yedikule article under the DAB title. There is a reference to "Yedi Kule" only, which is not an article. One day I may explain you why these unnecessary pages must have been created, around an ouzo table. BTW stop following me; WP has millions of articles. --E4024 (talk) 18:59, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You miss the point. The problem is that all links to "Yedikule" from a lot of articles (like the one example given above) end up on this dab page via redirect. But you have a point about "Heptapyrgion" in the intro. That has nothing to do on this page. --79.160.40.10 (talk) 19:20, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
