Talk:Zona de tolerancia
Can anyone help me get the map to view properly? -- juez2000
You can view a copyrighted map of the zona de tolerancia by following this link Detailed Map of Nuevo Laredo Boystown
This whole page looks like either a copyvio or an original essay, neither of which belongs on wikipedia. Can whoever wrote all this explain which it is?-csloat 11:02, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Commodore Sloat .... I just finished reverting to the previous version, with the addition of the map. Yes, I wrote the article. Is it original work? Well, it appears that I am the first person to pull all the information together in one place. However, the information is derived from multiple sources. Like all articles in Wikipedia it has to start somewhere. My belief is that through time other individuals will improve the article. Indeed, I don´t understand your point. All articles have to be original at some point. For exmaple, the article describing Hurricane Katrina was original. Am I wrong? One could argue that the Zona is not worthy of a detailed Wiki page, but I suggest it is. I mean Kansas City style barbeque has a detailed page. ...Juez2000
- This is great work Juez, but Wikipedia is not the appropriate outlet for it. Please read WP:NOR. I encourage you to publish this somewhere else, and then it can be cited in Wikipedia. But Wikipedia should not be the first place this information is presented in this manner. The problem with this is that you are presenting information that is not published elsewhere, including the map (which you seem to have created). There are also a lot of opinions on the page (e.g. "The zona is a fascinating example of commercial spatial organization") that don't belong on a wikipedia page. I encourage you to clean this up and get it published in a journal or other outlet, and then I'd be happy to encourage its citation in Wikipedia myself. But otherwise it is "original research," which is not permitted in Wikipedia.--csloat 01:19, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Zona de tolerancia is not just in Nuevo Laredo!!!
[edit]They're all over mexico especially in northen mexican states and urban mexican cities and they're called Red-light districts in English.
this article must be revised or deleted for the following reasons:
- 1. Zonas de Tolerancia are all over Mexico not just Nuevo Laredo.
- 2. The title "Zona de Tolerancia" is in Spanish and it should be in in the Spanish section of wikipidea.
- 3. Article already exists see Red-light district in English
- 4. Red-light districts, Zonas de tolerancia, Zonas rojas, and Zonas are all over the world.

redir
[edit]Clearly this title should be a redirect to the generic. But feel free to pick the local detail from the history and add it to the Nuevo Laredo article. -- RHaworth 16:02, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
