Tekabwibwi Village
Appearance
Tekabwibwi is a place on the main island Nuribenua at the north end of the Tabiteuea atoll in the Gilbert Islands of the island state Kiribati in the Pacific Ocean.[1] It belongs to the district North Tabiteuea. In 2017, the place had approx. 162 inhabitants.
Geography
[edit]Tekabwibwi is located at the northern tip of the atoll on a bay of the lagoon.[2] In the village there is a traditional meeting house: Tewai Maneaba.
It is connected to Tekaman in the south by the Tekaman Causeway dam.
Climate
[edit]The climate is tropically hot, but is moderated by constantly blowing winds. Like the other places of the Tabiteuea atoll, Tekabwibwi is occasionally haunted by cyclones.
