Updated for entire regular season.
Usage
[edit]To use the table on any article, insert:
{{2015 SEC baseball record vs. opponent}}
To highlight Alabama, insert:
{{2015 SEC baseball record vs. opponent|team=ALA}}
For other teams, use, identical to the abbreviations shown in the table:
ARK for Arkansas, AUB for Auburn, FLA for Florida, etc.
Before two teams have played conference games, the cells in the table, for the team row across to a team column, are intended to be m/dd or m/d, e.g., 3/19, 3/04, or 3/4, for future scheduled games or to be won–lost, e.g., 2–1, conference games only. Anything not using this date format nor the won–lost format, which must use the special character – (en dash), not the keyboard - nor the longer special character — (em dash), will create ***some error message*** and in the case of won–lost, incorrect results will show in some table cells.
Other variable names to be set equal are Some Team at Another Team, e.g., Alabama at Arkansas=3/19 or Auburn at Alabama=3–0. The template will automatically highlight home games and fill in won-lost, e.g., automatically putting 3/19 in the table cell for Arkansas hosting Alabama and 0–3 in the table cell for Alabama hosting Auburn.
There are other variables, e.g., ALA all won=0 | ALA all lost=0 | ALA tie brkr=0 | ALA div rank=W1 | ALA srs won=0 | ALA srs lost=0 | ALA swps=0 | ALA swpt=0 | ARK all won=0 .... All of these variables are needed for each and every team. It is best to copy these over from a previous use of this template, but do not copy over the Some Team at Another Team= variables since they will vary from year to year. Although not guaranteed to be for future years, but these variable names have been available at the "SourceSchedule=" internet link, for example, [1]. They can be copied over in entirety, removing superfluous wording, and specifying equal to, = values, and adding | separators. They are conveniently ordered in and grouped according to chronological order. If two teams do not play each other, the variable for them is not used at all. The, e.g., 2023 SEC baseball schedule announced can very probably be found each additional year by doing an internet search for exactly that title, changing the year, only.
The SourceResults= link can be whatever has all game results. Using, e.g., [2] has consistently been, since 2019, the same, only needing to change the year.
The team={{{team}}} is fixed since it is intended to be specified in the call to this template. year= should be 4 digit. update= can be any acceptable date format, and should be the date on which all won–lost updates are completed through that date. When the regular season is over and completely specified, use update=complete.
The W–L (overall conference record) column sorts on overall conference win percentage. The division rank column, E1, E2, ... W1, ... W7 sorts within division, explicitly, and also separates by East or West Division. Sorting on W–L may produce a slightly different order for more than one team with the same win percentage, compared to other lists. The only significant ordering is seeding for the SEC Tournament, including making the Tournament or not, after the regular season is completed.
A specific sorting of teams with identical win percentage is obtained by adding increasing thousands to the win percentage. The, for example, ALA tie brkr=, is used. Any teams with unique win percentage, have this set to zero 0, or if sort order is irrelevant, for example, when equal win percentages are zero. Otherwise, thousandths are specified. 0.000 for the lowest then 0.001 for the next highest then 0.002, etc.
Note that for teams with the same conference win percentage, more wins, or fewer losses, is not a tie breaker, neither is having a higher win percentage in all games including non-conference games, although that order is used by the SEC for standing when conference win percentages are equal. However, either can be used if so desired to specify order, especially if insufficient conference games have been played to determine order using tie breakers.
If the ordering desired can not be achieved, order can be done manually using tie brkr set to 1 through 14.
