Usage
[edit]This template returns the rank of a chess player in the FIDE world rankings and is used in the Infobox chess biography. In order for this to work, the infobox parameter |FideID= has to be filled in.
Data source: https://ratings.fide.com/top.phtml?list=men (which is not limited to men, the misleading URL notwithstanding).
Updates
[edit]This Java code extracts the data from the FIDE source. Its output should be pasted into the switch statement whenever FIDE publishes a new ranking. It is currently being maintained by User:joriki; if you want to report a problem or request a feature, please do so on their talk page.
