Typing this:

where:
- name is the liberty ship name (without the SS)
- type is the proper possesive adjective (usually his, her, or its)
would result in this:
In World War II, the United States liberty ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien was named in his honor.
If you are adding to a list of other honors, simply add an asterisk in front of the template and you're ready to go.
