The Template:NHLsm requires one argument, a number. When used inside a wikitable, following a single vertical-bar "|" (or double "||"), the number will be displayed in small font with the NHL color "SkyBlue" in background.
Usage

Optional linking
[edit]To link to Wikipedia:NRHP colors legend, append "|legend" after the number. For example:
