From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

At the start of the list:

{{Newspaper list/start}}

For each entry in the list:

{{Newspaper list
  | publishing_city      =
  | name                 =
  | sortkey              = <!-- optional: Times, The -->
  | launched             =
  | ceased publication   =
  | type                 =
  | call numbers         =
*
  | remarks              =
*
}}

At the end of the list:

{{Newspaper list/end}}

Parameters

[edit]
  • publishing city – city of publication
  • name – name of the newspaper.
  • type – frequency and type, i.e. Daily newspaper
  • launched – year (or date) newspaper was founded. Can use {{Start date}}.
  • ceased publication – date that a newspaper ceased publication. Use "current" if still publishing. Can use {{End date}}.
  • call numbers - bulleted list of call numbers using {{OCLC}}, {{LCCN8}}, and/or {{ISSN}}. This approach is used because many newspapers have numerous different OCLCs and LCCNs.
  • remarks - other information of note, in a bulleted list with citations.
Notes

All parameters can be freely left blank except for publishing city: if publishing city is not provided, the city cell will be left out. This is done to allow for omitting the "city" column in lists of newspapers that are all published in the same city.

Several parameter names are taken from {{Infobox newspaper}}, so as to make it easy to transfer information to articles where appropriate. However, the call_numbers and remarks fields are not transferable.
