Purpose

A nothogenus name (the name of a hybrid between two plant genera) is slightly awkward to format: the hybrid symbol × should not be italicized, but the genus name should; no line break should appear between the × and the genus name. This template simplifies formatting such names.

Usage

There are two unnamed parameters:

1. the genus name
2. leave blank for no wikilink, set to linked to wikilink

Examples:

• {{Nothogenus|Gonimara}} → × Gonimara
• {{Nothogenus|Gonimara|linked}} → × Gonimara
