Template:Overcoloured/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]

If an article, file, template, category, module, or other page does not meet the guideline for the use of colours, add this to the top of the page:

{{overcoloured}}

Alternatively, if the problem only affects one section of the page, add this to the top of the relevant section:

{{overcoloured|section}}
  • If the page is written in United States English, add the |US=yes option to spell "colour" as "color" for WP:ENGVAR compliance. Calling the template as {{overcolored}} does this automatically.
  • This template takes an optional parameter that replaces the word "article" in the displayed message with arbitrary text. For example, {{Overcoloured|section}} displays "This section may overuse colour..." and {{Overcoloured|template}} displays "This template may overuse colour..."
  • This template takes the optional parameter |reason=, which can be used to explain what issues need to be addressed, e.g. |reason=The contrast of some of the colors used in this timeline is not high enough to be read easily by almost anyone.

Category
