Template:Singapore legislation/index/doc

Usage[edit]

This template is not intended to be used alone, but only in conjunction with {{Singapore legislation}}. It is a lookup table containing the uniform resource locators (URLs) or website addresses of statutes in the Revised Edition of the Statutes of Singapore, and certain key statutes that have not yet been assigned chapter numbers, that appear in Singapore Statutes Online.

As of 22 May 2024, not every statute in the Singapore Statutes Online was in this template. To add statutes to the template, follow these instructions:

  • Statutes with chapter numbers.
    1. Look up the statute on Singapore Statutes Online.
    2. Look at the URL field of your browser and copy the portion of the URL after https://sso.agc.gov.sg/.
    3. Edit this template by adding a line to it like this: "|7A = Act/AELA1993", where "7A" is the chapter number of the statute, while the string after the equal sign is the portion of the URL you have copied. Please add the new line to the template following the existing numerical order.
  • Statutes without chapter numbers.
    1. If adding a statute appearing in Singapore Statutes Online that has not been assigned a chapter number, such as the Parliamentary Elections (Temporary Suspension of Overseas Voting) Act 2001 (No. 45 of 2001), carry out steps 1 and 2 above, then the ones below.
    2. Scroll to the end of the template until you see the line "|new =".
    3. Add the following lines to the template:
   |2001 = {{#switch:{{{no}}}
       |45 = Acts-Supp/45-2001
In the above example, "45" is the number of the statute, "2001" is the year in which it was enacted, and the string after "45 =" is the portion of the URL described in step 3 in the section "Statutes with chapter numbers". When adding the new line to the template, please arrange it according first to the year, and then according to the statute number. If the year of the statute already exists, it is unnecessary to add it again – just add the line with the statute number.
