A category header for categories for the by-year sub-sub-categories of Category:Sports in Canada by state and year, e.g. Category:2019 in sports in Alberta.
Adds portal box, category explanation, navbox, and the following parent categories:
- Category:YYYY in Canadian sports by state
- Category:YYYY in PROVINCE
- Category:Sports in PROVINCE by year
Usage[edit]
{{SportsYearCatCanadaProvince}}
No parameters are needed. The template parses the pagename, an extracts from it the year and name of the state.
Error-checking[edit]
The template checks that the page:
- is a category
- has a title of the form "YYYY in sports in Foo"
If either of those conditions is not met, an error message is displayed and no other output is generated, but the page is added to a tracking category:
- Category:Errors reported by other category header templates (population: 1)
