Optional parameters

  • |importance= Options are Top, High, Mid, Low, and NA. If blank, this will default as Unrated priority. NA represents "not applicable".
This is the importance within gender studies according to this scale. This is the importance within Gender Studies articles according to this scale:
Top The article is one of the core topics of Gender Studies. Articles in this importance range are written in mostly generic terms, leaving technical terms and descriptions for more specialized pages.
High The article covers a topic that is vital to understanding issues in Gender Studies.
Mid The article covers a topic that has a strong but not vital role in Gender Studies. Articles at this level will cover subjects that are well known but not necessarily vital about Gender Studies. Due to the topics covered at this level, Mid-importance articles will generally have more technical terms used in the article text.
Low The article is not required knowledge for a broad understanding of Gender Studies. Articles at this range of importance will often delve into the minutiae of gender topics, using technical terms (and defining them) as needed.
  • |listas= This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Mary Wolstonecraft, |listas=Wolstonecraft, Mary, so that the talk page will show up in the P's and not the E's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category.
  • |needs-infobox= Answer yes if the article needs an infobox, otherwise remove this line. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles.
  • |needs-image= Answer yes to request that a photograph or picture of the subject be added to the article, otherwise remove this line.

  • |small= Answer yes to display a small version of the template aligned along the right side of the page (as opposed to at the top), otherwise remove this line.
  • |category= Answer no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
