Questions about usage[edit]

Why isn't this template subst'ed? The content of this template may change over time. This would change the texts of previous decisions of AC which use this template. Or is this pattern of usage intentional and changes to this template should be included in previous decisions? —andrybak (talk) 23:26, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 3 May 2020[edit]

Suggest changing [[User:Arbitration Committee|Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee]] to just [[Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee]], since the current link is misleading.

Filed as an edit request because, despite being able to edit the page myself, only arbcom clerks or members should be editing it. DannyS712 (talk) 06:03, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DannyS712: The current link has the advantages that: (a) unregistered users or those without email enabled still see the text, which describes the Committee's "Communications and privacy" policy and provides a direct email to the Committee's mailing list, and (b) still accurately describes the wikimail feature. I'm not sure that it's the best solution, but I'd be uncomfortable implementing this except with arbitrator approval. Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 06:51, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: This link was adopted as part of a motion of the Arbitration Committee and is a formal Committee procedure. It can only be modified by motion of the Arbitration Committee which can be requested at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Clarification and Amendment or, maybe, Wikipedia talk:Arbitration Committee. @Callanecc: ...not important enough, just a suggestion DannyS712 (talk) 03:22, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
