Template talk:Chess from pgn
this talk page currently shows the template displaying 3 position out of the game, but template itself can display as many as <all of them>. add parameters in the form of <move#>l = some comment
(e.g., 12l for position after white's move) or <move#>d = some comment
for position after black's.
alternatively, to display several contiguous positions, use
from1 = 11d to1 = 14l comments1 = { footer for 11d position } { and for 12l } { 12d } { 13l } {} { 14l.} from2 = 17l to2 = 19d comments2 = {17l} {etc.} { } { } { 19l } ... from3 etc.
it is perfectly fine to mix the 2 styles, with a caveat: if the same position is referred more than once, it will be displayed more than once.
below is the output of
{{Chess from pgn | 3l = position after 3. Nc3 | 8d = position after 8... e5 | 27d = position after 27... Bxa4 | display notation = yes | pgn = <pgn (or rather, algebraic notation - template can handle full pgn too) of Spassky/Fischer 1972 game #5> }}
