Notes

[edit]

I've added a couple short reminders of which each short term means. I'd suggest 6b is unneccesary, unless it's being used to excuse the article from needing images. Adam Cuerden talk 21:52, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GAList used prior to criteria revamp

[edit]

With the recent revamp of Good article criteria, the item numbering is different now than it was before (for example, the current 1B used to be 1C; 2C was 2D). As such, any uses of the template prior to the change are now not actually correct, since the arguments used for each item in the old style will not necessarily correspond anymore. Is there any plan to correct this, or do the old uses not matter anymore? —Daniel Vandersluis(talk) 18:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like bot work, anyone who substituted the template, as generally recommended with templates would be in the clear. Perhaps we should add info somewhere on the GA instructions at GAC about substituting the teplate, i.e {{subst:GAList}}. IvoShandor 06:17, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested arguments

[edit]

I would suggest that an emphatic aye argument be added as well as an irrelevant argument, unless this is what leaving it blank is for. Atropos 18:22, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WTF???

[edit]

Should the wtf be changed, at first glance I thought it was vandalism. T Rex | talk 01:27, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zealous vigilance should be upheld in ensuring the tone of the Product is as sanitized and colourless as rationally possible. Skomorokh incite 18:01, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]

Should the list not contain a section for the lead? I would think that the lead is an importance part of an article, and complying to WP:LEAD is a requirement for GA. Warrior4321 01:58, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with GAList/check

[edit]

When I try to use Template:GAList/check within this template, this template keeps generating [[File:|16px|alt=|link=]] instead of or . Can someone please help?--¿3family6 contribs 23:09, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Although the wikicode {{GAList/check|}} currently generates (a neutral icon, as I am writing this), for some reason when that template is called from either this template (GAList) or {{GAList2}} with a missing "criterion" parameter (like 2d, for example), the "File:" wikicode mentioned by 3family6 is exposed (because the filename is left empty). Presumably this is because passing a "default" empty value to another template (i.e., …{{{1|}}}…) is somehow not treated the same way as having no text at all in the same position. I might have understood what the problem was at some point in my life, but my template coding skills have atrophied. Instead of trying to fix {{GAList/check}}, I just changed this template and the other one to fix the problem in a straightforward way. Hopefully this is acceptable. Template:GAList2 broken

[edit]

People familiar with this template should probably check out Template talk:GAList2#Broken, which points out a problem with that template (which presumably was originally based on this one) that someone here may know how to fix. - dcljr (talk) 04:51, 31 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My change alluded to in the previous section fixed the "exposed 'File:' wikicode" problem shared by this template and {{GAList2}}. The latter template still suffers from exposed "subst:" wikicode when it is transcluded instead of being substituted. - dcljr (talk) 13:17, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
