The girl (or woman?) watching the bat is a very nice example of mindfulness: intentionally being aware of what's there. In contrast, the picture of a chakra, and the link to Dharmachakra, is exactly what Kabat-Zinn tried to leave out, and what makes mindfulness so attractive: no religion. Sorry to be disagreeing again, but I was reading the article Sati (Buddhism) and saw this on the mindfulness sidebar. I couldn't tell what she was holding--it looked like she was just looking down at her hands, like maybe she was on drugs or something and thought her hands looked cool. My immediate thought was, "what does this random photo have to do with mindfulness". When I zoomed in I could see the bat, but it still doesn't seem like the best example we would be able to find. Anyway I don't think this photo is clear enough for it's prominent position. I also don't think it matters if it's religious or not since mindfulness is undeniably an important Buddhist concept, but I personally wouldn't care either way so long as it's clear what is being looked at. And now we end up with a saffran-clother Buddhist monk? What a pity... It's abit of a cliche, isnn't it? Can't we use a photo of a nice old lady? Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 08:15, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
