Two insignias
[edit]Like other countries, the Maldivian Marine Corps service insignia should be showed, like the coast guard. Everyone sees the service more than the dress and both should be showed side by side. DarleenDolphin1 (talk) 19:10, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- @DarleenDolphin1: what other countries? No other countries have two. Skjoldbro (talk) 10:25, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm talking about insignia types, service and dress. Yes they do, for example, the U.S navy officers have commonwealth style shoulder boards and U.S army rank pins, two different insignias. DarleenDolphin1 (talk) 19:27, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- What I'm trying to say is, there are two types of insignia that can be shown, the very formal dress insignia used by all branches, and the service specific service insignia commonly seen and worn like below. The coast guard retains the dress black and gold on a white uniform and the other services that are part of the marine corps uses dark green and gold on a light green uniform. Look at the jsdf rank pages. https://www.commonwealthunion.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/commonwealth_union_2021_02_16_nomination_female-officers.png https://images-01.avas.mv/post/big_LC7IbfJP3c3a6ADbxserOxApC.jpg DarleenDolphin1 (talk) 19:37, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, the US Navy, but looking at every, single, comparative, officer, page, not a single one have more than one type of insignia. Additionally, the difference between the two uniform insignia is so small, (background colour and a gold button) that I'm sure people will be able to recognize it, no matter the version. However, if you still want to add the less formal service dress, then I would suggest doing it like Military ranks of Bolivia, that way all iterations can be added without cluttering the comparative pages.
