Weird[edit]

This template is broken if a user doesn't have a userpage. It throws up subst:BASEPAGENAME where the username should be. Luigi30 (Taλk) 16:28, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category[edit]

What do people think about this template adding a category, say Category:Usernames editors have expressed concern over? This would have two main advantages:

  1. People who have received this template and have been forgotten about by the person giving the template can be taken on by other users who look through the category.
  2. User:HBC AIV helperbot can automatically add a note describing the presence of specified categories at WP:UAA. If a user has had a {{UsernameConcern}} template then it is very possible they should not be listed at WP:UAA, this would make sure everyone knows.

What do people think? HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 15:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am going to be bold and add it, revert and discuss if you disagree. HighInBC(Need help? Ask me) 18:13, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Frivolous use of this template[edit]

I have noticed that this template has been used by some people too freely in cases that have absolutely no conceivable merit. Despite its soft language, the template message is still implying that the user is doing something improper. People should make sure to ask first about meanings of the name without suggesting that username will have to be changed. I noticed at least two people who used their real names but had this template pasted on their page without further comment. nadav (talk) 11:12, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
