Tengnoupal District is a new district in Manipur, India created by splitting the Chandel district. It is one of the 16 full fledged districts of the Indian state of Manipur.

The district headquarters is located in Tengnoupal (24°19′41″N 93°59′10″E / 24.328°N 93.986°E / 24.328; 93.986) In the 1960s and 1970s, Tengnoupal was the District Headquarter and it was shifted to Chandel in 1974.Though Tengnoupal is geographically strategical for installation of many Government infrastructures.
