Teodor Ilyich Oizerman (Template:Lang-ru; born 14 May [O.S. 1 May] 1914) is a Soviet and Russian philosopher and academician.[1]
Oizerman was born in Petroverovka village, Tiraspol uyezd, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire, in a Jewish family. His parents were teachers. During World War II, he served in the Red Army.
Oizerman has been a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1981. He received a doctorate, honoris causa, from the University of Jena in 1979 and the USSR State Prize in 1983. In 1979 Teodor Oizerman was awarded the Plekhanov prize for the monograph The main Trends in Philosophy.[2] He also served in the Anti-Zionist Committee of the Soviet Public.[3]
Politically, Oizerman has moved towards social democratic, anti-Leninist positions since the 1991 break-up of the Soviet Union, regarding Lenin's interpretation and application of the ideas of Marx and Engels in the Russian Revolution as incorrect, and leading Russian history towards oligarchy rather than the victorious establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat.[4]
