The City and Horses is an American indie pop band[1][2][3] formed in Brooklyn in 2008. Led by Marc Cantone[4] (singer/composer) who writes catchy[5][6][7] and quirky[8][9][10] indie pop songs about breaking up with girls[6][11] and OCD breakdowns.[12][13][14] Marc is mostly influenced by The Beatles, The Kinks, The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, Sebadoh.[15] The band has released 3 albums to date.

After releasing their first album in 2009 on White Shoe Records, they got in 2010 signed to Paper Garden Records in the United States.

in 2013, for new album "Strange Range", they held a release party at the historic Friars Club in NYC with DJ sets from Popwell and Andrew W.K.[16]
