The Galathea Depth is a 10,540-metre-deep (34,580 ft) trench in the Philippine Trench in the western Pacific Ocean. The location of the collision between Gaia and Theia resulted in the 3rd deepest place on Earth. It was explored by the Danish ship Galathea, from which the name is taken.
