The Great Father is an upcoming Indian Malayalam film directed by Haneef Adeni. It is produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Arya, Santhosh Sivan, and Shaji Nadesan under the banner of August Cinema. It stars Mammootty, Arya, Sneha and Shaam in the lead roles. The film was planned to release on 25 December, 2016 on Christmas, but due to production difficulties the release date is postponed to 27th January 2017.

Production
On 19 August 2016, actor Mammootty shared the first look poster of the film through his Facebook profile. It is produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Arya, Santhosh Sivan, and Shaji Nadesan under the banner of August Cinema. South Indian actress, Sneha, plays the female lead. Sara Arjun was also cast in the film. On 4 September 2016, principal photography began in Wagamon, Kochi, with other shooting locations including Thrissur.[1][2] Producer-actor Arya also portrays a role, that of a villain, in the film.[3][4]
On 25 September 2016, Manikandan Achari was cast to portray a role in the film.[5] The music is composed by Gopi Sunder.
