The Rig (stylized THE RIG.; Arabic: ذا ريغ) is an adventure tourism destination under construction in Saudi Arabia, 40 km from the coastline of the Persian Gulf. The project will be designed after an offshore Oil Platform and will cover over 300,000 m2, double what was originally announced in 2021.[3] The Rig aims to attract more than 900,000 domestic and international tourists by the year 2032.[4]
A 2022 report published by Upstream estimated that the project will cost around $5 billion.[5]
