The Works is a discount retailer based in the UK selling an extensive range of books, art and craft materials, gifts, toys, games and stationery. The Works has over 360 stores across the UK and Ireland[5] and a fully responsive website.

Expansion and ownership

In 2007, The Works acquired 26 outlets of the Bargain Books and Bookworld chains after their parent company went into administration.[6][7]

The Works itself entered administration in 2008[8] and was subsequently purchased by equity firm Endless.[9]
