Theron Otis Feemster,[1] commonly known as Theron Feemster or Ron Feemster (and also under the Nickname Neff-U), is a Grammy Award winning American music producer, musician, songwriter and artist.
Life and career
Theron "Neff-U" Feemster is a Grammy-award winning producer, songwriter, and composer who has worked with Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber, and Sia among countless others.[citation needed]
Born and raised in Grover, North Carolina, Theron started playing the drums and piano at 2 years old. Early on it was obvious that he was blessed with an incredible musical gift. Having grown up in his father’s non-denominational, North Carolina church, Neff-U learned to express the way that God made him feel through music. He supplemented his gospel education by playing in classical orchestras and symphonies.
After graduating from Kings Mountain High School in Kings Mountain, NC in 1999, Theron went on to Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. It was there in his dorm that he composed a musical composition that made its way into the hands of Will Smith, which became the theme song for Men and Black II. In 2001, Neff-U moved to Los Angeles where he came under the mentorship of both Dr. Dre and Michael Jackson.[citation needed] His never-ending journey of musical growth has allowed him to be able to score each artist's life and give each artist a unique, personal sound.
