Tipperary Lake Trail is in the northern Gore Range, part of the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in the Eagles Nest Wilderness, Summit County. Tipperary Lake Trail is north of Interstate 70, west of Highway 9, north of Silverthorne and near Heeney. The trail is found on a nine-mile loop between Surprise Lake Trail and Eaglesmere Lakes Trail, above Cataract Lake Loop Trail. Tipperary Lake lies north of Mount Powell, Eaglesnest, and Meridian Peak. The lake is fed by Cataract Creek on a rock plate at the edge of a precipice. The upper Cataract Creek valley is covered with dense forest and many rock outcroppings which makes the terrain difficult to negotiate and has been known to entrap hikers who leave the safety of established trails. Greatest Hikes in Central Colorado: Summit and Eagle Counties, a hiking guide by Kim Fenske, provides a description of Tipperary Lake Trail.
